Management recently renovated the whole building. Has improved greatly in style and I consider this the main grocery store I go to. Produce once and a while seems to be picked through. They have a great deli, bakery, and meats/fish. Also their beer selection is awesome!
Quality, but a little pricey. Staff helpful, professional and go out of their way to help you. Have good quality products and seem to be organized and clean. I enjoy going there. Also like the various little buffet stations carrying a nice variety of foods for their customers. There are also a few tables for sitting and eating.
My favorite grocery store in Tosa! Their semi-recent remodel was a great upgrade- I now love getting a hot cup of coffee while I shop. They have an excellent produce, meat, and cheese section and the store is plenty spacious. It has a very neighborhood vibe and the staff is always wonderful!

For these reasons, I rarely shop at Metcalfe's. Everytime I do make the mistake of shopping with them I leave angry with the selection and price, vowing not to return.
If not for Metcalfe's cheese department, and their fine cheese-monger, they would be absolutely without any redeeming value.
We love their burgers. Very helpful. Great meat and fish. Try skatewing, just sauteed in butter. Wonderful treat. Always have several varieties of fresh salmon. Scottish salmon is unbelievable and less expensive than other stores.
It's a nice store with some quality products. The problem is those products are insanely expensive. Many of the regular items on my shopping list are at least twice as expensive at Metcalfe's as they are at Outpost (just a couple blocks away).
